Library News 04/25/17 – Preschool Story Time and More!

Afterschool Workshop
All children in grades K – 6th are invited to the afterschool workshop on Friday, April 28 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Sarah Davelaar from the Sioux County Conservation Board will present a program on animal tracks. “How do the animals walk? Once you are an expert at tracking, can you solve the mystery before we find the mystery animal?” Find out the answers to these questions and many more interesting facts on animal tracks!

Build A Better World
The Alton Public Library will be having a Summer Reading Program for children in Preschool – 8th grade. The theme this summer is “Build a Better World”. You may register by giving us a call, stopping by the library, or signing up on our website www.alton.lib.ia.us

Magazine, Video & Book Sale
Our annual magazine, video, and book sale continues until Saturday, April 29. Items for sale: Bundle of Magazines $.25 – Videos Free – Hardcover books $.50 – Paperbacks $.25.

Preschool Story Time
Come join the fun as we read stories, sing songs, and make crafts! Our last program for the spring session will be held on Wednesday, May 3 from 10:30 – 11:30 am.

Children’s Book Week
“For 98 years, Children’s Book Week has been an annual celebration of books for young people. Established in 1919, it is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country.” Be sure to stop by the library next week and help us celebrate Children’s Book Week (May 1 – 6).

Adult Book Club
The adult book club will not be meeting throughout the summer months. We will be reading and discussing our next book in September.
