The City of Alton is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our Electric Lineman/Gas Operator. This position plays a vital role in our community, ensuring the safety, maintenance and improvement of essential electric and gas infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to interacting with and providing exceptional service to our community. Electric line-person from skilled apprentice to journeyman preferred. Will consider providing training to individuals interested in pursuing the Apprentice Program to become a Journeyman Line-person. Natural Gas experience desired but not required. Individuals with natural gas experience are encouraged to apply. Candidate must be able to obtain a Class B CDL.
