The City of Alton is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our Public Works Department. This entry level position plays a vital role in our community, ensuring the safety, maintenance and improvement of essential public services and infrastructure. Position includes assisting with the City’s Water distribution systems, Wastewater treatment and distribution systems, Storm Sewers, and Pool. Also responsible for the safe and proper repair and maintenance of city vehicles and equipment, streets, curbs, sidewalks, City parks, City-owned buildings and other City-owned property and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to interacting with and providing exceptional service to our community.
